Intergenerational conflict is one of the main causes of firms' difficulties with generational diversity in the workplace. The following are the most typical issues that arise from generational diversity in the workplace.


1. Combatting age stereotypes and myths.

Negative beliefs could mislead coworkers into believing a youthful worker or that an elderly employee is ill. Many of these misconceptions have the potential to become self-fulfilling prophesies. 6.Different communication styles.

Communication challenges are common in organizations, but they are inevitable when individuals with diverse origins, ethnicities, genders, ages, and other characteristics collaborate. There will be misunderstandings, run-ins, and confrontations. Different ethnic groups also have distinct cues and expressions, and men and women speak differently. 7.Struggling to accept feedback from another generation.

Feedback from coworkers from different generations can leave an individual feeling conflicted. Accepting criticism from a different generation is especially challenging. A group of senior colleagues, for instance, might view a younger employee as haughty if the latter challenges them about something they have been doing for years. The converse, though, could be interpreted as an attempt by an older worker to prove their superiority over a younger one.
